1930s semi on a residential side road off Mandeville Road — a street of pebbledash fronts and privet hedges, driveway on one side, garage on the other, the A40 audible in the background. Three bedrooms, bathroom, lounge, separate kitchen, and a 60ft garden with a shed. Family — two children at Willow Tree Primary, mum worked part-time at Northolt Leisure Centre — 3 years at £1,650. Van on the driveway. No restrictions. Northolt station was a 7-minute walk.

Kitchen. Separate room at the back, about 10ft by 9ft. Not extended — the original 1930s layout. The family cooked daily — three years of school meals, packed lunches, Saturday fry-ups, and Sunday roasts. Freestanding cooker, Beko, gas, double oven. Pull it forward. Wall: moderate-heavy grease, two passes — three years in a kitchen with no bifold doors and one small window. The ventilation issue again. Main oven: two passes. Top oven: one.
